The Sister-geopark Agreement & Cooperation between Qinling and Shnnongjia


      From June 29 to July 1, Shennongjia UNESCO Global Geopark of China and Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark had a three-day exchange activity and concluded the sister-geopark partnership agreement.

     Shennongjia delegation of eight members visited the landslide geological heritage of Cuihuashan scenic area and Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark Museum. They thought highly of the infrastructure for education in public, the popularization of geological education in public and cooperation and exchange work of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark.

      At the meeting, Director Yang Jianping extended warm welcome to Shennongjia delegation and introduced the basic information and the development in recent years of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark. Mr. Zhangjianbing, Deputy Secretary of Shennongjia UNESCO Global Geopark introduced the basic information and especially their work and protection experience of Shennongjia as a national park pilot. The two sides exchanged views on geological heritage protection, tourism product development and exchanges with geoparks outside China.

      The two sides concluded the sister-geopark partnership agreement and reached consensus that further cooperation should be made on global geopark protection and management, personnel exchange, tourism promotion, resource sharing and brand building. The two sides were keen to build an open, tolerate and close partnership.



Signing the sister-geopark agreement


      Shennongjia UNESCO Global Geopark is the 7th sister-geopark for us after Wudalianchi, Yuntaishan, Leiqiong, Dalicangshan, Rokua Global Geopark in Finland and Psiloritis UNESCO Global Geopark in Greece. The partnership shows that we actively fulfill the obligation as a member of global geopark network. Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark will be open to further cooperation and exchange and will learn advanced management experience to make it a famous world-level brand.
